Kirkman Pro-Bio Defense contains the most important resident and transient microorganisms that contribute to maintaining and promoting a healthy GI tract. It offers the six probiotic strains in Kirkman' popular Pro-Bio Gold with added Saccharomyces boulardii (S. boulardii), a special strain of yeast that has probiotic capabilities. S. boulardii is considered a non-colonizing baker' yeast species, which is very closely related to brewer' yeast also known as S. cervesiae. Although it is a yeast, it is not related to the Candida species (Candida albicans, tropicalas, etc.), which can cause unhealthy microorganisms in the GI system and genitourinary tracts.
